I've never planted winter wheat for a food plot, but right around now would be a good time to plant.

I've used winter wheat for several years. It has always proven a winner for me. I had a 1 acre food plot and had 1 end in wheat and the other end in Biologic, and the deer would walk through the Biologic to get to the wheat. Try it, you will like it..
